oil pump idea : if you drop the oil pan / sump you'll be able to check it easily for
slack & the sprocket should be tight - like I said the chain can be run even if quite
slack - I have not seen a part number for a linked version ......yet ....this would be
classified as one of the more obscure noise making issues with the Hurricane

If it's the stator, there' s one on e-Bay UK at the moment for very little money.

come this weekend I will take another look into the bike seeing i work evenings, however I have now ordered a set of pulles from fleebay and should come thursday.

I will also check the tensioner under the oil pan, but i have not yet seen this idea either and i would say obsure is not the word. Try missed and failed i guess LMAO. I hope this might be the solution I much prefer the easier one but life is never like that. Should it be the way to be of the oil system. What can i do to rectifie the issue at hand.?????

Kindest regards

Hmm well there's the problem it's a continuous chain around the crank
and by rights requires spliting the case also, unless there's a masterlink
chain out there that can avoid you having to do that - must try find that
out for you. I remember this info from a very obscure Brit Bike site way
back in 2006

Also - perfecting your carb balancing and the actual crank balancer will
help with this if indeed this is what you are hearing as is my opinion that
it may be

sorry to be a pain.

I have not yet recently looked into this problem that is on going. However, looking over the bike today as i washed the wheels and what not. I noticed a small screw device strap to the side of the bike's engine lower right foot area, So i decided to check the manual and saying something about a back lash adjustment.

Please could someone tell me what this relates to and is it possible for this horrid noise that I have encountered be any where related to this.? or is this something completely different.
But for the purpose of expliantions, has anyone done a brief video on this backlash adjuster and possible noises that comes from this adjusting screw that i found.

1 more thing, this is completely off topic from this noise. I have noticed the bike has still got its original rear shock in place with the use of a JCM swing arm. I have had a look on CBR and not many topics on what I would like to know. IE a brief video or photos of how I can maybe adjust the preload and stuff. Their are many topics about similar but nothing about the OLD cbrs. This JCM swingarm is a real pain the a** to adjust without the correct locating tools but its doable with nuts and bolts left place inside out.
This preload and stuff, all i can see is a small bolts head (poss 8mm head) and a plastic outer casing behind it with 2 notches on the outter side of this plastic casing. I have read the manual for what its worth and clearly does not show or explain how to go about adjusting it. Something about 3 notches i believe.

If anyone has a boring time on their hands, you might be able to find something that could point me in the right direction. I swear i have been looking in the wrong place hence why Im a noob for asking such trivial questions.

hmm.

https://cbrforum.com/forum/1000f-vid...-knock-107912/

This is what i have found and the sounds coming from the bike is not that disimilar but mine seems to come from the Alternator area more so and Im guessing that would sound about right to what this post is suggesting. I think its time to hang up my gloves for the next year or 2 unti lI can save up to fix this problem of mine. >.<

something about a back lash adjustment.

Maybe the bearing inside the stator cover...........?

To adjust the preload or rebound on the rear shock, look in the OWNERS MANUAL

There are links in the HOW TO SECTION
