Default stalls when put in gear

My 1990 cbr 1000F with 35k miles stalls whenever the bike is put in gear with the engine cold. Enngine oil is changed routinely (Mobile synthetic racing 4T for motorcycles), and clutch fluid has been changed for the first time 1 month ago. Once engine is warm and after multiple attempts and stalls, the bike will usually go into gear. After that, and after driving there is no issue until starting the engine the next time it is cold. Could this be sticking clutch plates that are failing to disengage? Any help would be appreciated.

Im thinking more of a faulty kickstand switch or wiring to it.

Had the switch checked out when the clutch fluid was replaced. Seems to be working fine. Yellow indicating light goes on and off as it should. Thanks.

Sounds a lot like a worn clutch to me. As the engine heats up the oil thins and the clutch works better.

I don't know much about the 1000F but I am pretty sure the clutch/transmission shares oil with the engine...

Have you checked the oil level? If its too high you will have this issue. Also, more of a long shot - but it could be air in the clutch line.

Don't know if this can apply but according to my manual it can be a number of reasons:

*Excess fluid in the reservoir
*Friction plates worn or warped
*Plain plates warped
*Clutch spring worn or broken
*Lubricant incorrect (viscosity?)

Maby another type of oil could solve it?

I have owned this bike for 20 years with virtually no problems along the way. Some old gas one time and tires and brakes when needed. This problem started to become an issue at the end of last riding season. I have used the same brand/viscosity of engine oil for years and seem to baby the bike more and more each year. Some answers to your posts...
1. Engine oil is new synthetic Mobile 1 racing 4T 10w-40 filled to the proper level on the dip stick.
2. Hydraulic fluid is new, line has been bled, and resevoir is filled to the proper level.
3. Clutch lever feels normal when squeezed.
4. Side stand switch recently checked out normal.

Looking more and more like worn/warped clutch plates?

Thanks to all who have posted.

Have you tried running the bike on a paddock stand and sellecting the gears with and without clutch lever and see if she runs or stalls.

Put the bike in gear with engine off, pull in the clutch and see if you can roll the bike. If not ur clutch is not dis-engaging either due to sticking plates or clutch not working propperly.

You mentioned you had the clutch replaced, was that better or worse than b4?

When my bike sits, if I start in gear it hangs up a bit. I have gotten in the habit of moving it a bit in gear before starting to break the clutch loose
