Stalling when Hot - 1990 CBR1000F

RE: Stalling when Hot - 1990 CBR1000F
Check that the air filter is clean, if it is clogged the bike will get to much fuel vs. air and that will give the symptoms you have that indicates a rich situation. New plugs are also good if they existing ones have passed best before date.
In case the filter and plugs are in order, there could be time to remove the carbs and give them a good cleaning. When they are apart, the float valve seat sealing (a rubber tip) and the float levels should also be checked considering the problem you have.

I have a 90 too and had the same symptoms. I must dial the idle speed up to 1600-1700rpm to keep it from stalling when warm. Running on choke made it a bit better so i thought i must be on lean condition. Since the idle mix screws are hard to reach i removed the carbs, replaced the original #128 jets up to #140 and opened the mixture screws 3 turns. The same weekend i modified the ignition rotor to get a few more degs advance. Syncronised the carbs too. After these modifications she idles smooth 1100rpm, and low-end power is MUCH better. Now she pulls clearly from 2000rpm and surprisingly mileage is the same or even better. just my €.02

i just bought a '88 1000 and i didnt see that happen yet. Sometimes i do have the run the choke a little long, but nothing like what you guys are talking about. I will look into it for us all and get back to this thread. I want to fix something before it breaks...

Ifixed it by buying another ride (BMW R1150RT) - lol.
I still have the CBR but it is running worse than ever as now it also stalls at idle during normal operating temps(ie. not only when Hot). I have not made time to address the problem(s)but it seems that with a liitlechokeit rides better. Keep in mind that my CBR gets very little riding time (<500 mi/yr) so lack of use may be a contributing factor. (Fresh tank of gas might help too.)
Iam planning to tune and clean the carbsthen take the advice given bythe other posters if the tune/carb clean does not fix it.
