42 AND 17 are stock... ( edit due to brain death at a late hour ..LOL )
May I ask why you want to change from stock ones which are pretty good ratio's..
These old girls are happy to sit on 5000-5500 rpm quite economically (120-130 klm per hr / 70-75mph)
are you a bit of a speed freak ? LOL

If you want more speed and less revs , 45 and or 16 will do the job...

I think our Oz has it backwards Higher front and lower rear will give you more speed, less revs.
Steve's option will give higher revs and lower top end........

Just been out and checked the rear sprocket 43t, one tooth above standard, no wonder the engine seemed to rev so hard.
I think when i replace the sprockets i will opt for standard up front and a 41 or 40 on the rear.
Has any one here done this gearing ratio and what was it like?
