Has there ever been a 1000F nominated for ROTM? I know people who have these things spend more time riding rather than building a showbike but..........

Who's got a really nice one? Anybody interested? Mine qualifies for rambling wreck status.

Let's put one of these beasts in the running.

Hey Shadow. It was actually that 1990 silver model which hooked me on the 1000F. I went to the motorcycle show in NY in '90, saw it, sat on it, asked a ton of questions about it, fell in love with it, but never followed through and bought it. If I would havecome across onelike thatin excellent shape before I bought my '96 this year, I'd probably have gone for it. Mind you, I'm very happy with my '96. I held on to the Honda brochure I got at that show, and often looked at that bike throughout the years. "Open-Class Sportbike" they referred to it in their literature back then. Guess that term was superseded by the current Sport-Tourer sometime later. Anyway, congrats...looks like you have a really nice one!!

Welcome Shadow,

Good looking bike. I like the grey also.

IMO the Red,White and Blue 90 models are the best looking of the big CBR's.

Hi Roger, thanks for the kind words - I first saw my bike 4 years ago at a local dealership being serviced, love at first sight, was given the name of the owner, and phoned him.......took me a while to get the funds together, but 9 months later away I went on my "new" Baby ! She's only had 3 owners from new, and the other two were also a bit fussy, always gave the old girl what she needed. She had 10,000 miles up when I drove her away, now has 38000 on the clock. I changed the screen for a black touring model, as I found the standard one a bit low - .The regulator/rec blew the other day, and we've isolated the problem as too much resistance in the field coils, so as soon as the rewinders reopen in the New Year, the stator and field coil will be rewound. She gets a wash once a week, and as we are able to ride all year round here, used often ! Thanks for the pics.....don't envy your weather......brrrrrrrr Currently 85F here, 8am.....!

Thanks for the kind words - I only saw a red one much later, as the CBR's wren't imported here in any numbers, which makes spares purchases a bit of a nightmare ! Red white and blue is nice, my friend Wynand has one, but for me, the silver's good.

This Dragster/CBR1000F is still for sale.
But is it a winner?
