I'm sure this has been discussed before but i was wondering if anyone has used the danmoto risers, i think that is the name. how much do they move your position and how are they built?

Thanks

Hey CSH

I'm sure Sprock will be along in a moment, but until then, have a look at this thread.

https://cbrforum.com/forum/alternati...le-bar-137027/

I think that has the detail you may be looking for.

Cheers, SB

Along this thought.

I'm looking for more tuck in my bars.

Any thoughts that way?

Dan Moto :

Pro's: great adjust-ability, pretty much do any position you want.

Con's: dangerously soft alum, so much so you have to buy longer
hardware and end lock nuts to ensure they don't work loose.
Also a lot of work to fit - you have to shorten/cut down the
bars as they are way too long and you have to tap the ends for some
heavy bar weights or they'll buzz like hell

Would I recommend them ? not really I think having to make the product safe
to use is a serious downside to them & imo if the bike takes any kind of impact
from being dropped of worse - these things would just most likely snap off due
the quality of the soft metal being used

Here's the image from "what have you done to your ....." back when I did them
This is without the longer bolts and lock nuts which I had to add later
Basically all the silver allen head bolts were replaced for longer ones that took
a lock nut on the backside as I could not trust the soft threads to hold with
the stock bolts - you'll see on the bottom pic one dark longer bolt I had to use
as the thread began to strip out - and like I said decided to do them all in the
end

One thing you do always need is rock solid handlebars

Thanks for the info Sprock. I think if I was going to go with anything, I'd try the Spiegler/LSL conversion. The only thing that turns me off is the price lol...

Bought them once for a 4000ml 5 day tour I was doing, thinking they would improve my comfort....dumped them soon after, i was crippled, I think the origional design is just right...except maybe in traffic.

Really - hmmm

When did ya get them and what did ya pay ? To the best of my knowledge the
Dan Moto 3 D's have only been around less than 12 months

Hear ya Matt - I gave up on the Spiegler idea if you go that far
you may as well just go and buy a Versys, VStorm, GS or something

ah - the heli's do not have the same range of position as these - I see now why
you'd say that man.

I just answered in the context of the original danmoto ? by the OP
