rim question again! last time

Default rim question again! last time

so i've asked this a hundred times but i found a 94 rear rim, can i put it in my 7 swingarm. the only thing i have to change is the caliper braket right?

Hey collector, i put a 93 rim on my 87, easy, all i had to do was move the caliper stay arm from the left side of the bracket to the right side. there is a little spacer inside the swingarm bracket, i repositioned that so that it sat inside the 'u' shaped end of the stay arm so that when i tightened it the 'u' shape didn't compress to much if that makes sense. i think u will see what i mean when u pull it apart, good luck...

yup. the 87-88 cbr1000's have the speedo gear on the front rim, newer models are driven off from the front sprocket. so you will need the stock spacers, the sprocket cover and the speedo cable from the donor bike... all of this stuff just bolts right on.

hurricane u were the one that told me i could use my 87's spacers on the rear wheel right?

yes, but you need to add 2 large washers (or have a spacer made) on the brake side of the rim. the sprocket side is the exact same part on both bikes. if you were near boulder colorado, i could help you...
