Riding Season 2008 has started !
I went out for the first trip this year today. The temperature was about +4 Deg C but the roads are fairly dry. I reduced the tyre pressure to 2.5 kg rear and 2.3 kg front. The standard pressure is 2.9/2.9 (42 PSI).

Thanks; yes I also hope to get another accident free year. I'm surprised I wasn't cold at all. I used a facemask and have several layers of thin clothes under the protective gear. The heated grips help a lot to. I almost forgot that I have a new double bubble screen on; I think this helped a lot to. The general feelingwas like driving on a not very hot day mid ordinaryseason.
I also got the opportunity to snore out the engine to full rpm on 6th

Great to see those movies, R1000!
On the last flick, whith the wheelie, I guess you rode on västeråsvägen and turned northwards on road 53?
I also went for a ride today, just a few miles from where R1000 rode. No wheelies from me!
I haven't figured out a way to fasten my old digicam to the bike (or to the helmet). Perhaps it'll be best to buy a camera specifically made for filming on the bike? Any ideas on the forum?
Took this flick during a pause in my riding today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhiHQj4r-YI

It will be some time before I will be able to ride. I took the attached pictures two days ago.
I will be working out of town in a few days, I won't get home for three months. I will be able to make my
650 mile run to MT. Washington when I get back home. I am looking forward to it.
It is snowing here today.

Yes it turned north onroad 53 about 10 km's after Kolbäck. The meeting car didn't looked very happy meeting a bike on the rear wheel in the middle of the winter...
Most cameras have a 1/4" thread holeon the bottom. In case yours have to, you can buy a cheap adjustable camera mount at Mediamarkt in V-Ã¥s thatworks verygood. I think I gave 79 SEK (10 dollars)only. It is fastened to the tank by three strong magnets that I bought at Jula, they are normally used to mount mobile phones on car dashboards. Iglued the magnets to the mount bottomby Araldit. The underside of the magnets is rubber coated and will not scratch the paint. The camera and the mount sits very hard on the tank, it appears at leastto be wheelie proof...
You can see the arrangement on the blurry picture below.

Thanks R1000, very inspiring that setup of yours. "Magnets from jula"... imagine that... You're tremendously resourceful and practical, imho. (I've got a tankbag (and I don't want to ditch it)) - and perhaps am getting a gps this season, so I'm thinking something like fastening the camera on the bars or something. Or, perhaps turn my wallet inside out and get something fancy from touratech.
Timbuctwo: By the looks of it you're really enjoying yourself! Next week I'm going north to the mountains (fjäll, in Swedish) to go skiing. Haven't been skiing for 30 years - anything but a casket is a victory over death!

I'm afraid this day was a little special, unless the global warming has come into full effect :-)
Normally we have a lot of snow at this time and an average temperature of perhaps –5 to -8 Deg C withlow readingsas deep as -20 Deg C during certain days in February. It would be very dangerous to ride today as I did on some sections if the ground was frozen, which it isn't right now. Even with plus 5 Deg C the road can be very icy, as e.g. the lakes are in springsindependent of the air temperature.
Well, it helped me to, to get some driving today. We have about 50 more days until the first bikers begins to ride more frequent, at least here in a bit up in Sweden.
