Default Replacing the tappet cover gasket

I always have problems with this one......

I'd like to hear the members thoughts on "how to"
Do you use gasket sealant, if so, where ?
Do you stick the gasket to the cover, or to the engine, then the cover ?

If not, why not ?

etc etc.

I'm sick of battling with leaks..........

Thanks

Thanks Team !
My new gasket has arrived, so time to get at it - if it leaks afterwards I think I'll do myself a mischief !!!
Sammich it is !
