turn ........ heh heh ......... a "note to self" moment ....... "warm the ****en
tires up before pushing her to the max in a turn" ....lol

Leads me to something else ....... some tires warm up way faster than others

My Michelins ......... hey 5 min's ....they're good to go.

The Battleaxes on my 93 ..........they take waay longer !!!!!

Hey:

I am running strickly Metzelers and Shinkos Raven 009 nowadays, both warm pretty quick and have good cold weather adhesion, maybe look at going to either of them when the axes wear out. I will probably never run Bstones or Dunlops any more because of that. Mich and Pirs are both good just cost to much compared to Avons or Contis. It just hard to beat Shinkos or Metzelers to me. My next choice would be Avons or Continentals as they both work good in the wet and cold, just not as sticky.

I have Avons Storm Ultra2, they ask a bit of time before warming up but once warm they ar pretty good, in the rain they are incredible, in cold weather i am already very very cautious so i am not pushing her right now... up here we are cruising between -2 at night an 10 maximum during the day and you wait until 12 or so as we have black ice in the morning, season is almost at an end!

Hey man, the thing is, sport tires work when they heat up. Only then do they get sticky. More stickier than other types of tires. They are a bitch to get up to temp. on cold or rainy days. That's why I stay clear of them. I had to many, oop!, moments on them. Not many real hot, low moisture days in my riding season. I have not tried Battleaxes but My guess is that they can be fussy on humid days. A good S/T tire works best in the northeast USA. As I am still here in Canada land, with heavy frost in the mornings, I don't know what my Shankos will do in the cold. They work well in rain so I can only guess they work in the cold.

Peace brother
