rear brake retainer clip
While cleaning the rear wheel and brakes on my 95 cbr1000f I managed to knock the retainer clip off and found it on the garage floor. It is item #12 in the attached schematic, but for the life of me I can't figure out where the thing goes? Any help would be appreciated.

RE: rear brake retainer clip
You must have had the caliper off and pads removed. It straddles the caliper bracket where the pad ends push against that bracket while stopping. It's a stainless piece that takes the wear and prevents galvanic corrosion that will occur if you leave the steel pad end bearing against the aluminum bracket. You'll have to remove the caliper as if you were doing a brake pad replacement and it'll be evident where and how it goes. Hope that helps.

RE: rear brake retainer clip
The clip you speak of fits against the end of the brake pads. It'll be the end of the pads closest to you in the picture. Once you figure where that end of the pads go you'll find the home of the clip.
I hope you understand what I mean.
I'll try to explain it another way too.
See the item no 15 in the pic? Well the clip you mean fits at about the 7 o'clock positon to that. Does that make sense?? Hmm, difficult one to explain, but very simple once you understand.
