Is this for real?

Is this for real?
I can't see how this bike gets to 220 so fast - I think it's been faked.

RE: Is this for real?
I watched the seconds counter and from the time full throttle was applied to the bike, from a rolling start, it hit 150 MPH in about 10.5 seconds. Very possible for a modern day heavy weight. I also watched the reflection of the rider in the gages and also took note of the herizon in the reflection. I think it is believeable that this could be bike setup for drag racing, NO2, gearing and what looks to me as the use of wheelie bars.
The ZX-14 does 144 MPH from a dead stop in 9.72 seconds right out of the box.
With NO2, turbo or supercharged and wheelie bars, I would think that you would get the results seen in the video.

RE: Is this for real?
If they had a speedohealer and put in a REALLY wrong value you could get the same result... my bike is currently reading 14% higher than stock. Indicated 114 is really 100. If you made it off by 25% then you'd get there in a hurry.
Say it was off by 25%
220 * .75 = 165mph... note the gauge says ninja... I wonder which one?
Could be real - might not be - that's the internet for you

RE: Is this for real?
IIRC this is a turbo 'busa with 300+ hp. Once again IIRC there is a couple of videos of him blowing up 'busa turbo engines trying to get it tuned to an inch of it's life.
This video has been around for a few years. Everyone seems to think that 220 isn't correct, probably more like 200, because of the aero effect on the bike. Somebody calculated around 400 HP to get to 200 on a 'busa.
Still... wow....

RE: Is this for real?
I agree with jetson1000, I've seen what 160mph looks like and the scenery goes by it looks fake. OK take for instance the BMW R1100RT Police bike. I ride that for work, and I've had that up to 110 mph in training for high pursuit and the scenery was moving pretty quickly. So I think the speedo was altered.
