It is such a shocker to me.. how some people speed and like quiet cans vs people who want loud cans drive lower speeds, yet at a given point people with loud cans get the "oh that guy must be crazy and wreckless" badge on them.

I for example, don't speed much as my life is precious to me for my family rather, yet the bike I'm making had the delkavic 18" can 4into2into1 and it wasn't SUPER LOUD, but it was rather deep and maybe a little loud.. just a tad.. not loud enough for me so I chopped it to 8.5 inches . If you want it ninja quiet, I would recommend either universal baffle As mentioned above by a very respectable entity of this website or then the old bulky ugly looking factory cans.

Either way, I live in Alabama, so if my exhaust isn't loud, the cagers won't know I'm around them and it causes danger

"respectable entity"

followed by "bulky and old"

You will make many friends here Aman.

But Aman - you neglect to mention those moments
of opportunity & sheer madness we are all subjected
to!

If you are red lining it with open pipes or closed
trust me - the decibel level is of little consequence

Oh I completely agree with you Sprock, we are all taken over with the so called "rush", fortunatly for me, control is a very big aspect of my life and hence the need of having a motorcycle is important; In the sense that when I get this so called "rush" how long I can control it, change the emotion and so on makes a difference. Trust me, I would love to just let my beast inside me out and let it rip stand on my feet at 140m/ph but I cannot let that come out.. life will change for me

At the same time, one can preech to me and say, oh then why don't you just move to cruiser.. answer to such a comment is that cruisers do not require the level of sheer control as this bike or sports bike does.

Am I right Sprock .. Or am I just jibber jabbering?

Both you are neither right nor wrong - nothing wrong with cruisers, touring bikes -
dirt bikes, dual sports or whatever ......... life liberty and the pursuit of all things
motorcycle is good enough for me ..... space for everybody imo

But yeah right now- my pref - the thrill and sheer power of a sportbike reigns supreme

Might have a different opinion when I'm 80 tho !

edit : see the Saloon for an associated poll

Well Sprock I think you have a good idea with the baffles/inserts/whatever they may be called. I hope I can find some to fit these old cans, they look really cool.
I was coming home yesterday and gunned it just a touch as I turned down my alley... my wife was sitting in the backyard and was laughing by the time I rolled in, she said it sounded like a helicopter was coming down the alley! I wouldn't mind cutting the noise a LITTLE!

Would you be looking to sell the pipes if you get others?
