I've only had my '91 a couple of weeks, but I've noticed a vibration problem. My throttle hand goes numb, but the left grip doesn't seem to vibrate. Any ideas?

on my bike it's inline withthe fuel pump... if you take off the side cowl, you'll see th fuel pump and filter kinda under the framerail and the seat... follow the fuel line from the petcock and you'll find them both

I know that this is an old thread, but I thought I would let you know that I finally got around to re-adjusting the balance shaft on my '91. Most of the vibration is gone.

I was riding with some guys the other day, we were sitting at a light, and I yelled over to my buddy "Do you hear that, man? Do you hear that rattle?" He replied with " You know there's something wrong with your bike when it doesn't rattle."
Not the answer I was looking for

When they pulled the carbs there were some small beads similar to the beads on the end of a plastic hairbrush bristle in the bowls. He said they have seen this recently on several other bikes, but didn't know what could be causing it. Has anyone else ever seen or heard of this? New fuel formulation?
I've heard of this as well. IIRC it's from some additive in the fuel. Something added in the refining process if memory serves me. They almost look like little tiny black ball bearings. I wish I could remember where I saw this posted.... one of the bike forums I'm on. I'll do some more digging.

Take it from me I have a 92 model with 78,000 ks on the clock and before adjusting the balancer I had the same problem so with the BIG help from Noe I did it myself and that was last weekend approx 1,000 Kls ago I just did 600 today and most of the time I was sitting on 150 to 160 Ks thats with two up. Got home and oiled the chain, checked the oil level and she is puring like a kitten, also the motor was very responsive after tightening the adjuster
