I know I am 10 years later butt felt like the CCT tensioner inspection/maintenance should be included in the valve clearance adjustment service.
Correct me if I am wrong but seems like cleaning the tensioner at the same time the valves are adjusted helps keeping the CCT noise down further till the CC finally stretches to the point the tensioner won't tension it anymore.
Also another item I would consider inspecting at the same time is the oil pickup.
