Default Project CBR1000F!

Hi all,for the last month or so i've been busy getting my 1KF ready for the better weather.Got a few new bits like chain & sprocket and
an Autocom to fit,but before that i've stripped the swingarm out for a clean and paint as well as the wheels and a few other things.

Still got a way to go,but she's coming along now!

Nice work!! What you are doing is something I wish I had time to do! I like the rim paint! Post more pics when you have refitted the parts.

I would love the time, and lack of kids, to do this also. Looks great, hope you did some "before" shots.

The top photo in my first post is what the swingarm looked liked when i first took it off.

I'm trying to go for a chrome look on it without actually getting it chrome-plated which would be expensive!

Trouble is on my first attempt i used "decorative" chrome look paint - which when dry rubs off and isn't very
durable......but now i've got some hammerite chrome look radiator paint which should hopefully be better!

When it's all done i'll post up a picture of the bike as it was originally and another of it back together when all
the works been completed.

As per another thread, I am going to strip the back end down. Did you have any probs? Or is there anything I should look out for? Everything looks simple enough.

Yeah,it's pretty simple stuff really, ghostrider - i didn't have any probs - just check the swingarm bushes and linkages for signs of wear.

I've had to give up on my chrome look swingarm as i couldn't get any paint that wouldn't rub off! [:@]

Gone for a bmw titainum silver, with laquer afterwards, don't look too bad - will post pictures soon.

I can't wait for it to be back together, not long now!
