Gearing wont increase the power, but if all you're interested in is straight line acceleration then it's the simplest mod you can do.
Have a look here Gearing Commander: Motorcycle Speed, RPM, Chain & Sprockets Calculator

I think 10.7 might be a little ambitious, Cycle World ran a '90 (same HP as an '87/'88) at 11.2/124mph.
Bear in mind that those guys are professional riders, who don't have to ride the bike home at the end of the day, so they probably have a little less mechanical sympathy for items like clutches than the rest of us would.
So all in all I would think 11.7 isn't too shabby for a 25 year old bike.
If you are looking to go drag racing thou: Step 1 - dyno, make sure the old girl still has all the horses that were supposedly installed at the factory.
Step 2 - gearing - maybe plus 1 or 2 on the rear? someone else would be better to comment on that.
Step 3 - if still not satisfactory, get a larger wallet.

ok thankyou for the quick responses... when i was at the track i tried everything slipping the clutch my best time was just letting clutch out and let her fly..lol just trying to get it ready i even tried lightening it up alittle.. center kickstand, all reflecters so on...the air box says it has conforfs to uspea for that model year.. do you think it has restricters in rubbers or in airbox on this model what would i look for??guess i should off payed mor attention to it when i did all that work lol..lol
k thanks for the link also i just took my aircleaner back out to look at the airbox and there is a white restrictor plate just above the aircleaner would it help to take that out or would i loose power??

Something that's true with cars and I assume bikes on the strip is that the race is won or lost in the first 60 feet. Back in the 80's Terry Vance was testing a Suzuki GS1150E, then, the out of the box 1/4 mile king, They even put nitrous on one and used the horn button as the trigger. Anyway, an easy trick is to set the rear suspension to its stiffest settings, then bottom the front suspension (even to the point of strapping it so it doesn't extend). This will reduce weight transfer at launch and result in more instantaneous forward momentum. Free and might gain you a tick or two
