Question Only firing on two cylinders....!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, I have CBR1000fl 1990, just bought it today and when riding home its spluttering , as though it was only firing on two cylinders... Pulled into the petrol station then after 5 minutes i tryed starting it and it fired on all four cylinders and shot up the road.........
Cut a long story short, its firing on 2+3 but the 1+4 exhaust was not hot.....
It seems only to stop firing on all cylinders when i rev it hard up the road.....
Then if i leave then bike for 5 or 10 mins it fires up on all 4 cylinders......

Can anyone shed some light on my problem...

Has anyone had a simular problem....

Many Thanks Chris

check your coil. 1 an 4 are the same coil.

maybe a mod will move this to the gt section. you will get more response there.

Yes they are the same coil.....1+4 is the left coil..... 2+3 is the right coil.....
Im thinking maybe a duff coil that is breaking down.. Or possible the connections to the coil.....
Need some input from other workshop boffings to see if htey think the same........?

being 1 and 4 are on the same coil, if the coil doesnt fire it will loose both cylinders. check connections and coil resistances. try swapping the coil with the 2/3 coil. if the problem moves to 2/3 with the coil, the coil is bad. if it stays at 1/4, its something else (connection, wiring, etc)
