Default Online US Parts/Cam Chain

Does anyone have any website suggestions on finding parts for the CBR1000F online? Ideally I need one in the US where the international shipping won't kill me.

In particular, I'm looking for a replacement split cam chain with a master link. That is, not the OEM one from Honda.

I know the part number for the D.I.D model, but can't seem to locate a dealer online that carries it.

Thanks!

Tried them both. Useful, but just the OEM cam chains for the 1000s.

My best bet might be www.wemoto.com. The conversion rate and shipping isn't that bad. I think it's around $125 total.

try www.mrcycles.com
Camchain - Google DID camchains for a dealer in your area - wemoto are good, but very expensive as are www.davidsilverspares.uk
The DID camchain sells here for around $50, add about 20-25 for postage from South Africa as they're quite heavy.

I went through the entire list of resellers off of DID's website. I only found one supplier in North America: Motovan.

They are a Canadian company and now I can't find a dealer that carries their parts. Grrr.

I understand that there's this new thing called the "internet" that you can use to sell stuff!

Send a PM to GILL (Forum member) or Daniel_Arg both have bought camchain - related things recently. If all else fails, I can probably send you the right one (DID part no SCA412-150) for about 75-80 US INCL postage......Let me know if I can help - they are locally available ex stock here, I have one in my bike.

Thanks for the suggestions and offer! I have contacted both and will see what they have to say.

Worst case, I may end up taking you up on that offer.

If nothing else, I'll report back if I find a place to order in North America.

OOO, check the old thread called 'Cam chain again'. (it's archived I think) It had a K&L part number for the cam chan and the master link. Most decent dealers will have access to the K&L catalog

I found this post:

https://cbrforum.com/fb.asp?m=23736

The site originally linked to is dead and the part numbers provided don't seem to be much help online.

I'm really surprised that this is as difficult as it appears. I wouldn't have any problem using the Honda OEM cam chain, but it's my understanding that it's a single piece unit versus a chain that was meant to be split like the D.I.D chain. Am I wrong?

Anyone else have any suggestions before I impose on Shadow1?

I found a US supplier for cam chains. They aren't D.I.D chains, but instead Tsubaki. Z1 Enterprises has them...even though they're out of stock after my purchase. Here's the chain:

http://www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=1728

And here's the master link:

http://www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=1860

I wasn't sure if the chain came with a bundled master link, but US$3 makes for cheap insurance.

The cheapest price on the cam tensioner and other parts I ordered was MRcycles.com across the board.

Hope that helps someone else as well!

Thank you again for the offer, Shadow1.
