The corrosion was from the outside, the inside of the pipe is still good. British weather and salt on roads. Lack of good deep cleaning i would guess. Watch this space and in the next few weeks that shot pipe will be repaired by myself. He wants his bike to be original, He has also ordered a new set of cans and headers for her.

Found the parts on this website. www.hdlparts.com . The pipe you mention is only $80 US which I don't find to bad. That equates to around 52 pounds. I think your getting ripped off wherever you bought the one you ordered.

As has been mentioned , those pipe hasve been RS for more than a few weeks by the look of them ....one would think that water would have been leaking like a sieve from them for quite some time ...
* NOTE TO EVERYONE *
always do a full check of the bike visually before riding anywhere ...at any time !!.... maybe om paranoid , but I always look over my bike before going out for even a 30 min run ... takes but a few seconds to do ...

In our part of the world we shouldn't get that sort of corrosion. That salt is a real ba5tard! Better than the black ice but kills bikes and cars. Lucky you're somewhere..er..cool Boab. These bikes would just about run 'air cooled' over there . I don't fancy even the mighty cbr's chances over here with no coolant.
