Who is this "Fat Man" and how come he knows so much about the dark side? Do we have an electrical guru in our midst?

It would appear his knowledge extends past "when the smoke gets out, it's farked".

Welcome aboard Fat Man [although to be fair, I feel a little bit uncomfortable calling you that, but I guess if you're happy with it, it's all good]

^^^^^

I'm right there with ya on electrickery Kiwi, it's a dark art to be sure, you can't see it, but it usually smells of burning insulation

Fat Man, if you can use 'The Force' to help young Harry out, you got my vote!

I would have thought the years were the same. Nice going guys. I can make sparks with wires. I'm a doctor Jim, I'm not a damn electrician.

Default Wow

Absolutely full on respect to you Fat Man.

You were spot on and its something I would never have even looked at!

I finally got time to check it out and have taken a couple of pics - there will be something coming up for the How To section (More pointers than a full how to)

I now have spark!

GRRRRRRRR

ok I have spark - but clearly the timing is all out of whack as the timing rotor is also different.

Easy engough to swap them over you'd think - the manual just says to remove the right crankcase cover and hold the crankshaft whilst you unbolt it.

However there is NO way of getting a grip on it :-( - any ideas?

Sorted rotor - Air tool moves much faster than the crankshaft wants to and out of frustration I just let it spin - after a few secs it came loose :-/

back to the garage......

Thats awsome man, I know how happy you feel! As when I bought my Cane i was told that the motor was shot. But the moment I got her to run I was grinning from ear to ear!!!
