Newby, Hi guys/gals.
Hi. Finally worked how to get going on the web site.
I have a couple of CBR's, F/l models. They are 90/91models, black and red, and white and red/blue. Always liked them, now can afford them, old boy see, (50) , and busy rebuilding the white one with lots of new bits etc.

Thanks fella.
Been a biker since 17, from V50 step through Yam, XS 250, XT range, FJs, then I bought , in recent times an XJR 1300, eye candy was the word, nothing special, 6 months later got rid of it, awful, thin, not substantial, but just looked good. Then along came the CBR 1000F/L. At 24 years old.....what a well made, solid, good looking bike.
What set the seed was, the monthly mag called Classic Motorcycle Mechanics, and whilst on the 'throne', I read this article about the CBR, of this model, and thought that is the bike for me.
It never takes me long to give the bike a strip down and replace what needs replacing, swing arm rollers, wheel bearing, seals, rad fan motor over haul, etc etc. One thing I did do was a compression test, to be amazed the readings wete up in the top range of the manufactured specs on all four cylinders, but also all within a few psi of each other. Blinking amazing after 24 years, and umpteen owners. Whilst there , I checked the valve gaps, and all within spec.....What a bike.

Hiya. Yes, I believe the red and black is a 91, and the red and white with a bit of blue is a 90, . Incidentally, there are not many of the red/black ones with the gold wheels as produced by factory, I think many people changed the colour perhaps, as gold seem to be an odd color, as they are on my ST 1100 Pan European, but strangly seems to work as colour schemes go.
