Default Newbie - Corbin Seat

New to the forum - lots of usefull stuff on here !

Seems to look like you yanks lost the thou in 96 but I have a last of the line 99 model here in the UK which is imac.

Anyway - anyone have a corbin seat out there - I am after some feedback on the comfort and build quality before I commit some serious cash to get one shipped here.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum m8, there's quite a few uk places will redo you seat and install gell pads for about £180 like p&p seats!

Welcome to the forum. I have a '91 1000F with a Corbin Gunfighter and Lady. Comfort is excellent IMO. It does make for a lower seating position - those who have ridden my bike say they feel like they are sitting 'in' the bike rather than 'on' the bike - I agree with them. It makes for a more upright riding position, but also makes for a more extreme knee angle. My memory of riding an '87 1000 with a stock seat is that the seat wasn't as comfortable as the Corbin. But everyone has their own preferences.

I've got a Corbin on my 87 and don't care for it much at all. First, it does sit lower. That's find if you're a little guy, but at 6'6" I want all the legroom I can get. Second, it's got a hump in the middle towards the tank. If you want to get up close for the twisties, you have to let your oysters get squished into oblivion. On the plus side, it's very comfy for passengers and with the grey trim it matches the bike quite nicely.
