In need of cyl head for my 88 1000F there has been one located on Ebay but I need complete W/ cams..were would I find AfterMarket Cams or anyone know were to locate a Cyl complete w/ Cams
I have one from a 92 model, with cams, but is missing a couple of the

Do not know if these are interchangeable, some one will chime in with that answer.

As I understand it the head and caps are made as one piece and drilled out making the caps specific to the head. I am pretty sure that a head without the matching caps is useless. I have a Cali pair head if you want it but would recommend finding a non pair head if you can. Good luck.
I'd like to point out that while it's desirable to have the original caps it's NOT essential - we rebuilt an 88 engine using a set of caps from TWO different engines and the bike ran perfectly and is still running fine.
In a perfect world, yes, but the differences are so miniscule as to not being a problem on an engine of the age we are talking about. The caps don't have a primary function in respect of holding the cams in place - the camchain is really tight and does that - what the caps do primarily is channel oil to the cam journals and prevent any "whip" in the cams. Having said that, I wouldn't run the bike without them.
Just make sure you put the right caps on the right cams, don't mix them up. (front and rear)
BTW I mixed my left and right caps at one time and ran the bike like that for about 6000 miles - no problem.
Run slightly thicker oil like a 20W/50 and you should be fine.

My question here is,
Does anyone have the specs for Shaft/Cap clearance so he can flexi-gauge the clearance and know he's in spec for proper oiling on the camshafts?
