Default New and saying hello

Hi I have bought a cbr1000f of the 1988 vintage and cant believe how much fun it is to ride, even in this weather. Its had a checkered past but untill 2 years ago gad been looked after, with a full service history, all old MOT's and 59000 on the clock. Its a shame some sad chap with a tin of satin black paint got caried away. Nothing I cant fix but why do folk do it? I will try and put some photo's with this but as Im new to the site you may have to be patient with me
. Well imprest with you guys. hope to spend time with you

Welcome aboard. There are a lot of good folks here with a wealth of information.

Your bike doesn't look bad at all. I have an 87 that I had painted midnight blue. Not too different from yours other than mine has standard decals on it.

Hello wolfman and welcome to the forum, good to meet another Brit and not that far away either.
Your bikes notbad mate, the other way to look at is, you have a bike that can be "worked on" and you are not loosing any originality!
Mine is all standard paint, even the pipes are standard and I haven't got the heart or the will to change anything, would be nice to have a winter project.
Enjoy the cane mate they are good bikes and the forum is great, a few nutters about but these are mainly in SA and OZ you will meet them later

Hi Wolfman, welcome to our madhouse - I see some of the lunatics have already escaped and greeted you - good thing too, or no gruel for them at suppertime !

BUGGER BURNING THE HERETIC..............(we only have one Dane, and he's OK, for a VFR heretic infidel)
BURN SAWNEE !! we have plenty of cheeky poms
and he has a Z900 in the shed...................like me, only mine's a GPZ900R

(Then cover him in maple syrup an
d feed to the chickens)

Enjoy what's on offer, and the bike looks good - at least he didn't spray the whole thing)
