New owner from Argentina - '92 1KF
Hi guys, been checking out the forum a week before picking up my CBR, lots of useful information here, along with some manuals, too [8D]
So thanks to all of those who make this the best place to find info on the 1000F.
I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and just got my CBR last week, it's a 1992 japanese model with 36.000 km on the clock, very clean, only been dropped once while standing from the left side, but no big damage or scratches other than the engine plastic side cover (really useful part if dropped!)
She's all factory original, except for the new tires (Dunlop), so that means it's time to give 'er a good clean up (previously owned by old rich guys). Been riding it for about a hundred km's and everything seems fine, even the temp, but I'll be changing fluids, oil, filters, spark plugs, coolant, all the obvious maintenance stuff. Also throw some Liqui Moly carb and valve cleaner wich proved really good on my previous bikes.
Some pics: http://www.bikepics.com/members/magnarider/92cbr1000/
I come from an '87 Super Magna, so I'm still learning to get used to the power and handling of the 1000F. Even though I'm an experienced rider, it all feels brand new to me.
Only thing I've noticed that I need to fix (already got all the fairings out), is a small leak that comes out of the plastic connector right below the thermostat, on the right hand side, where three hoses meet. I've read here that tighten it is not the definite solution, so I'll check the condition that is in, clean it, and replace it afterwards.
Anyway, cheers to all and thanks for keeping up such useful forum!

Hey Daniel_ARG, welcome to the forum. What a great find. The bike looks great! I don't think you could have asked to find a better one. It sounds like your going to do all the right things with maintaining the bike and checking it out. As Shadow1 said, let us know if we can help in any way.
Good riding...

Hi guys, and thanks for such great welcome!
Been messing with the bike yesterday, here some pics... excuse the comments in spanish

Anyway, only thing that was wrong with this bike, is the damn plastic connector for the coolant pipes. Tried everything, but like I've read on the forum, "tighten the pipes only makes it worse", so now I'll be waiting to get the replacement part to be on the road again.
One question, the idle speed is supposed to be around 1000rpm, right? that's what I've read on the manual but it's for a '93+, I guess it doesn't makes a difference?

Thanks!! I'll check with some local dealers this week otherwise I'll have to order online, I usually go to www.mrcycles.com, but if you know of any alternatives (that take paypal), let me know.
