Hi All

It took me 7 months of vigorous searching, but I finally found just what I was looking for. A third generation ('96 model) CBR 1000F in mint condition without performance modifications. Aside from the Corbin seat, backrest, & tank bra and a Zero Gravity windscreen, it's completly stock. Took possession with 8,500 miles on it. Honestly, it was tough to find a hairline scratch on this bike. I've only put 300 miles on it so far, but she runs beautifully. I guess it was worth the wait, and giving up part of myequally mintgun collection as a part of the purchase price. I'll post somebetter pics soon.Just wanted to say hello for now. Outstanding forum you have here.

Roger

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. Let me just throw one quick question out. I was given a pair of tire valve lights recentlyby a friend, when I mentioned I was interested in some sort of additional lighting. They work great at night. Well, today a very young fellow rider tells me to get rid of them....says they take the wheels out of balance, and will ruin the tire valves since they flop back and forth hard at speed. Does anyone know ifthis makes any kind of sense at all? Thanks for the help.

Welcome. They may brake the rubber stem off with there weight but i think they would look cool . You could try bolt in stems to be on the safe side.

I agree with weekendrider, get the metal (chrome) valve studs. They look great and last forever. In fact, at Cycle Gear, if you get new tires, they're required to replace the valve stem unless you have metal ones. Also, if you're concerned about balance, then get the tires balanced with the light in place. That should aleviate that issue.

Welcome to the forum. I have an 86/87 hurricane & found that the stems on mine became brittle & eventually broke just checking the pressures. God only knows how old they were. Anyway I had them replaced with chromed steel. The cost was minimal & because they are bent not straight it's now dead easy to check pressures regardless of which nozzle the servo has. Ive never seen the valve lights before but they sound interesting.
By the way, nice ride you have too. That was a good find!

Welcome to the forum.
I am working night shift. My buddies and I ride home together middle of every night. Valve light will be cool for night riding...
