New member (rhino94's old bike)
Hi !
"rhino94" told me about this forum,it looks like a great place to share same interests(bike riding and repairing tips).
Irecently bought"rhino94"´s CBR1000F -89 (white/blue),i've never owned a Honda before but it's a really nice bike to ride.
Last Sunday i took the train to Borås to buy me a "new" ride. After some problemswith train delays and a buss that couldn't wait for me i had to call "rhino94" and he was kind enough to come and pick me up.
After the money and paperwork were done we were anxious to go riding the bikes. We took somegreat winding roads,he first me after(safer cause i've never ride there). After one hourridingwe were back at his place, sharing some experiences from the little trip it was time for me to headback home with my new bike(about 350 kilometers).I took it easyto Jönköping because of all the "speedcameras/radars" then it was 150-160 km/h all he way home to Eskilstuna, except for two stops to fill some fuel. The bike runs really smooth and that little higher windshield(is it called windshield in english...?)makes it a little easier to ride cause i'm 196 cm.
Back at Eskilstuna i had to go to one of the long and wide straight roads we have here that the military usesto land and start their airplanes on,they are long enough to test topspeeds at.So i got down behind the windshield and gave full throttle, the tachometer speeds up thru the gears and when i raises to 250 km/h i pulled off .It would have gone a bit faster, maybe 10-20-30 km/h more(at tachometer speed).I did'nt buy this bike to ride fast as a maniac but you have to try when you have the chance to make it on these military roads like i have.No i'm looking forward to go ride the winding roads with my friends and my girlfriend.

Welcome Swede! Great that you listened to rhino94 and checked this forum out! I live in Älvdalen, 40 km northwest of Mora in Dalarna. Actually have some friends in Eskilstuna, no bikers though... See you!
Welcome! I've got the impression that rhino's bike is in a good condition and well taken care of. I'm not far from E-tuna,I live in Koping that is 20 minutes drive by Kvicksund. I sold my CBR 1000 F -92 last year and changed to a Blackbird, but still visit this nice forum and I really enjoyed the CBR 1000 F. I guess you alreadyhave a center standwithyour 1KF, there is one laying around here that will be dumped sooner or later.
Thanks for the warm welcome !

I'm another swede with a Honda. Unlike the others I'm a n00b when it comes to bikes and riding them. Right now I'm visiting my girlfriend in Enköping - not far from R1000's Köping and your hometown of Eskilstuna. Do you have any advice on good, winding roads nearby?

I have not been riding for a few years,so i dont know the condition of the roads i´ve been riding before, but i intend to check'em up shortly.
I tooka trip to Strängnäs,Mariefred and Åkersstyckebrukwith a couple of friendstwo days ago, i got abitdisappointed...at "Trekanten" in Mariefred a few years ago there used to be 100-200 bikers every Wednesday, that used to be fun.Now there was about 20 bikes.
I've heard of a couple of places where bikers meet a go riding . I let you know when i havechecked it out.
Ps.There are many speedcameras between Enköping and Strängnäs .... watch out !

Yes ,we probably dont have to worry about them !
I hearda fun and "true" story about the speedcameras...you wanna hear...!
A client to this man who i know , told me that when he was driving with his car by a speedcamera it flashed and he was shure that he was not overspeeding. He got curious , turned back and drove by one's again and the camera flashed again. Now he was getting a bit angry cause he was defenitly shure that he was not overspeeding the limit.
Once again he turned back and drove by the third time and the camera flashed again...now he was really angry.
But he decided to continue his journey and a couple of days later he gota letter that order him to pay fine, not for overspeeding but forpassing three times without using a seatbelt when driving !!!
I got a good laugh when i heard this , if it's true or noti cant say !
(If the weather is fine early tommorow i'll sneak out a go for a ride before the others wake.)
Have a nice weekend !
