hey,
Fellow 1st Gen. here
Changing all of the fluids, especially the brake and coolant, don't forget the fork oilis a good winter project. Upgrading the front brake lines to S/Steel helps with the underpowered stoppers. All filters gas, air, oil!
A valve adjustment, Cam Chain inspect/tighten can be done at the same time the cover is off. The counter balance adjust to help smooth her out.
The rear shock is a bit trickier with few shops that will rebuild and fewer off the shelf replacements, check for leaks.

I made the mistake of uping the jets to a Stage One, but have heard from more technically savvy folks on this site that the oem's can be shimmed?
Looking to change the carbs back to stock or adjust (if I can) to a 4to1system I grafted from a Vance/Hines Header into an 04 ZX11 Stock can. Sounds much nicer the the V/H Super Sport, which is up forsale if someone wants it. I also have the stock header 4to2 with a set of Cobra F1's (also load) on the shelf ( great shape).

If you're familiar with eBay, it's a good place for some hard to find used pieces.

Enjoy!
