Default new front fairing mock-up; comments?

as some of you know, ive had some trouble locating the correct front fairing for my 94 1kf...the used sector is of little to no help, and new is out of the question, so...i decided to make one fit from a cbr1100. i couldnt locate a used cbr1100 headlight, and i had already bought a used 1kf headlight...so i decided to make it unique and put it in the 1100 fairing. filled out the gap on top with some treadplate aluminum..i dont think it looks too bad..could be cooler, but curious what everyone else thinks?

Looks like a reasonable fit for the headlight jw11432, not sure about the silver, depends if it blends with the rest of the colour scheme.

You're gonna end up with something pretty unique

its actually polished aluminum, that treadplate...but yeah, thats whats not quite sittin 100% with me either. right now its just sitting there, so i can easily take it out, but i would definitely need something in its place..the question is what!!

would like to hear more comments, if you think it doesnt look quite right, please say so. i dont need to be riding around looking like a putz :P

Good on you for trying something different but I've got to say I'm not a fan of the polished aluminium. Not sure what else to suggest either really so I'm little help..sorry. My first thought was more lights in the gap if you could find a couple of rectangular spotties that would fit?? There'd still be some gaps to fill though so whatever you do, I think you'd be better off to get creative with a fibreglass kit, filler and a lot of sanding. That way you'd end up with a nice sleek shape.

I'd take it out, and replace it with a fibreglass piece.
Checkerplate looks fine on trailers, not on a 1000F fairing.

+1 on the fiberglass kit, filler and a lot of sanding.

Sorry buddy but that looks terrible. Dont do it. Go with the fibreglass kit or put a BB headlight in there. The checker plate will destroy the look of the bike.

You'll need to make it good and strong - the smallest flaws will become apparent as soon as you get some speed up - if it's off centre, the bike will pull to one side, and in that area the wind pressure will be very high. If it's not strong, it could well break up and hit you in the face - not a good thought.

My best friend would say,"You have to be kidding me, look at that." I would say,"Here is a guy that wants to ride and is finding ways to do it." I know people that would use duct tape. If it gets you up and running and not looking to silly, go for it.

well, ive seen enough evidence here to ditch this idea..im glad i wasnt 100% into it lol

ive already removed it from the fairing, and very desperately trying to find a blackbird headlight used, but seems impossible to find. if i cant find one soon, ill likely try a new idea...cutting a lense to fit the fairing, and then covering it with mirrored film. when looking at it, it will look mirrored during the day, but at night, light will shine through. does this sound like a better idea?
