Default New exhaust system

Morning all
I have a CBR 1000 FS in near mint condition. It has just got through the MOT but will need a new exhaust system at some point. I’m struggling to find one and may need to go down the custom built route. Does anyone know where I might find a system or recommend a custom exhaust builder. I’m in Somerset. Thanks in advance.

Wow, that's a beautiful specimen! That is going to be a tough order. I don't recall there being many options available when there were many 1000F's around. I'm trying to think of anyone within the 1000F section that had one. What is it about yours that is indicating you're going to need to replace it? Certainly can't tell from the photo, that's for sure. Do you need the entire exhaust, or just the slip-on's?

It has just got through the mot but I patched up the collector box a few years ago and it has a slight blow but not bad enough to fail. The silencer clamps to the collector have completely corroded through and have been removed before they fell off. The silencers are so corroded to the collector they will never come off. So I fear the hole in the collector is getting bigger so it’s likely to fail next year. Problem is OE is no longer available and now full aftermarket systems seem to have gone the same way. Although I would have liked to keep it stock.

What a great looking bike, the only thing that I would suggest is to give Delkevic a ring to see if they will do a full system, they have silencers but no downpipes.

When I'm looking for stuff for my F3's, I'll do a search on ebay and try to make it as specific as possible. Even if no results. Then I save the search and configure for email notification when something pops up. Let ebay do the work. Helps with hard to locate items. Seems like if you can get a decent set of headers, then go the Delkevic route for the silencers.

Unfortunately Delkevik system is discontinued. M&P sold their last one 2 hours before I phoned. What’s the chances!!!!
there is a possibility that they may bring out a replacement system later in the year but no guarantee. I had call back from someone today after I made this post who makes systems to order and can do it for £970 inc vat. It may be my only option as I’m not scrapping the bike as it may be the nicest example out there. Thanks guys

Well thanks for the update. Keep us posted on how you get on. Maybe give Delkevik your info in case that last sale falls through... ya never know.

Good luck.

I would email them directly, they have been very helpful in the past.

Pricey original from Italy on eBay. Search: COLLETTORE DI SCARICO DOWNPIPES HONDA CBR 1000 F 1989 2000

Cheers,

Dennis

PS I scored a Delkevic stainless steel collector unit about a year ago! Must have been one of the last ones.
