I had a CB750 years ago, nice bike, Less than 2/3rd the power of your new CBR

Air filter is under the RHS side cover, Fuses on the LHS near the Handle Bars (One other fuse above the Air filter)

You can change the oil without removing any fairings.

Remove 2 bolts and lift the tank to get to the top of the engine, has a stick to hold the tank up (like a car)

Don't forget to check the radiator levels and flush it.

If you have a cam chain rattle, join the club, lookup on the forum about adjusting the balancer shaft.

Have fun and stay safe.

Did I miss anything?

If the speedo isnt working it is more than likely the plasic part that goes over the bolt on the sprocket nut.

plastic part that goes over the bolt... where is this trips? i tore the thing down and put it together tonight.. cables fine but the transmission sender unit isnt doing a darn thing! had the bike som what jimmi rigged up on a jack in second gear with a shirt tied around the frount brake and the engine deal there aint turning

i also tried the cable with a power drill and it is not broken in the least.

air filter...wow man how do you get inside that airbox... its kinda scary lookin so much stuff cramed in to a small area none of the other 8 rat bikes ive owned has perpared me for this !! so i just put it back together with only one bolt left over because i lost one of the little threaded clamp things so ill be fixin that soon enuff. yea this bike screams... and the breaks...OMG compared to my less that safe cb750 wow those breaks work good i had the rear tire lift up at a stop sign.
racked my nuts once or twice too..

ok on to the problems the speedo deal aint happy

the headlights arnt happy...they work on highbeam and turn off on low beam

that and the rattalin sound i can hear it really good when very very slowly revving up the motor between 1500 and 3000 rpm.

dang.. how did i miss it when i bought it last night...i was listenin to it for that reason. that and it seems to smoke when warming up now that its in my possession. didnt smoke last night when i seen it start up

felt the engine and anything i could too to see if it had been started earlier
oh yea whats that other thing that rattles thats not the cam chain? hmmm balancer shaft.... great..lol

and what kind of power and weight loss is a 4-2-1 vance&hines system do to this bike?

other than that its got fresh maxim 10-40W tri metal something formula
now if i can only find some very cheap givi hard bags to mount on this thing

oh if anyones intristed its the black /grey with the yellow triangle sticker
colored one

I'm at work or else I'd post up a photobucket link.

But if you take of your front sprocket cover you should find a little white plastic cylider shaped piece on the inside. The inside of the white plastic piece is shaped as a hexagon to match the shape of the bolt that holds the sprocket on. What happens if it is old or the cover is not put back properly is that it gets flogged out. Cheap to replace.
