Hi everybody!

Lets just start with myself.
I'm Daan, 15 years old and a big fan of many sorts of motorcycles.

What i've had in the past two years:
Yamaha Aerox 2x
Puch Maxi
Derbi DRD Racing 4x
Sachs Speedjet
Yamaha YZ250F '04
Peugeot 205 CTi '86
Honda CBR 1000F

Currently I still have one of my Aerox'es, Puch, 2 Derbi's, the Peugeot and ofcourse, the Honda.

I just love working on them. It's a great way to clear my head from school and the trouble at home.

But, let's cut the crap and begin with the most important vehicle.

I bought it two days ago, 7-27-2013, for the stunning price of 140 euro's.
Well, the price already says it. It isn't in the best condition and it won't run.

After cleaning the carburators, I tried to make it run.
But there was no battery

With a little bit of help from my dad's Range Rover, I had a battery.
Result:


Still nothing.

The previous owner thought, that the lowest driving chain was broken.
I hadn't heard of that before..

He tried to push it when it is in his gear so it would jumpstart (don't know the exact word, I'm sorry..), but than with a rope behind a car.
Pushing a 1000cc isn't that fun... But there was no result, it still wouldn't run.

You guys have any other idea?

And i'm searching for:
A buddyseat cover without gaps
Good battery (12V)
Left mirror (previous owner broke it against a wall when pushing it out of his garden)
Maybe a left footpeg (?) Where the driver puts his foot on..

The term is bump start.
If primary chain was broken there would be no resistance when bump starting.

OK, did you know that there is a fuel pump that can fail? You can gravity feed it to bypass the pump.

Are you getting fuel to the carbs?

Are you getting spark?

Welcome to the forum you lucky dog you. I never had a bike like that when I was 15.

 

Hmm I was close

I have taken the fuel pump off to clean it a little bit.
But it is possible that I just take the pump out and just get a direct line from the tank to the carbs? I wasn't sure, so I put it back.

Fuel did go through the fuel thing on the bottom of the tank. (Lost the name..)

I'm getting my spark plugs out tomorrow. I have a tool, but it's too large. It doesn't fit correctly in the holes of the cylinder heads.

gravity feed is the best route, check the inside of your tank, if its grubby or rusty stick an inline filter in, let us know how you get on starting her

 

First it was:
Fuel tank - Hose - Filter - Fuel Pump - Hose - Carbs

Just taken the fuel pump out, so now it is:
Fuel tank - Hose - Filter - Hose - Carbs.

There was fuel in the hose behind the fuel pump. So I think it was working..
Should I put it back, or just keep it how it is right now?



She gives resistance when bumpstarting, but not like it stops immediately.
More like you push the brake not extremely hard. She just slows down and stops.

My former bike, the Yamaha, stopped immediately, so much resistance that the rear tire even slipped with me on it. I only weigh about 55KG, but you get the point

 

i would leave it gravity fed now its all off,check you have a spark by taking a plug out and earthing it out,also check the fuses under the left hand in-fill as one of mine went and the bike would only spin over but not fire

What wheelnut is asking is to, pull all 4 plugs so it will spin easy.
Plug all plugs into the coil wires and ground the end of the plug to the head.
With key on, press the start button to spin the engine and you should see spark in the plug gap.

 

Thanks. I knew how to check them, I only didn't know what he meant with it haha.

I'll try to get them out this evening.

 

First some good news.
She does make a littebit of sound! Every now and then a little 'plof'.
She's alive!!!!

But..

Too bad. None of our tools will fit in the holes of the cylinder head.

Is it a small or big type spark plug?
Tomorrow i'm going to the nearest motorcycle shop with my cables of the spark plugs. I need some new ones. These are in a really bad condition.

Can somebody please make a picture of his/her cylinder head.
The cables of the spark plugs are really weird put in place.. One comes from the right ignition coil, and goed to the left cylinder.. I can't explain it really good, sorry.
