Default New Bee 93 Hurrican owner

Hello all,

Im a newbie from Montgomery, Alabama and the proud owner of a 93 1000F with 42k miles. I bought it about 2 months ago. Happy to be a part of this forum.

I was a little concerned about the number of miles it had when i bought it but the previous owner used it on long trips across the states. It seems to be running really well, with only a few problems. The temp comes up about 3/4 in heavy traffic, but the fan is coming on and it never goes past 3/4. Also seems to be a light rattling noise when the motor is cold and it quiets down after a few minutes. Doesnt use any oil and is loaded with power.I dont ride my Vulcan 750 Cruiser much anymore since I bought this bike, and I am no longer a fan of V twins- love that 4 cyl power!

I read some epinions of Hurrican owners and it seems these bikes are well capable of 100k miles if properly maintained.

Welcome to the forum Ronnie. You've got yourself a great bike there. I should know, I have the exact same one! The temp reading you describe is perfectly normal, as is the rattling cam chain noise upon start up. Cam chains (CC) and cam chain tensioner (CCT) might be the only weak points on these bikes. Some have had voltage regulator/recitifier problems (I did) as well, but they seem less wide spread. Use the search function to research questions that come up. There is a lot of information spread throughout these threads.
Enjoy your new 1KF!

Hi bicklebok, welcome to the forum. All the things you're mentioning are normal things on these models. My temp guage does the same in heavy traffic. I replaced my cam chain tensioner to get rid of the noise, but someday it will return. It's just the nature of the beast. I'm just coming up on 40K miles and plan for many more. They are great bikes and I'm sure you're going to love it.

Welcome. Good bikes & good people in this forum. Lots of knowledge & knowhow & not scared to share it. Hope you enjoy both. If you need a manual contact Shadow 1. Sorry Shadow. Thought I'd get in first but still leave you the glory.

Thank you guys!! Good to see such an active forum with quick responses. I absolutely love my bike! Wish it was new, or they still made the same bike.

I cannot upload any photos of my bike uder my profile! It says they are too large. So i tried uplading a pic from my cell phone and it says its too large also. Im not the sharpest with file sizes and I would think a cell phone pic would not be too big. Help please

It shouldnt be a problem, I've uploaded some pretty big files. Unless it has something to do with being a new member or something.

In the file upload pop up box it says files can not exceed 500kb.
