Just a quick update. I'm now an expert on how not to paint a motorcycle. All the issues of incorrectly supplied thinners turning the paint to yogurt through to the original paint crizzling up every time you touched it with any new paint & so on. Any how here is a quick photo of her. She hasn't been buffed or polished, no decals & the rest is still dirty but she's together. Still needs a lot of work to bring her back but slowly bit by bit. I have some of the decals here & some yet to be picked up but waiting till it's all buffed before I put them on.

Wow, man!!! That looks really good.

Paint can be a beeatch, that's for sure. Looks like you got it sorted out pretty good, though.
Props to you, blue!!

Thanks. You'll notice though that there is no close up & the belly is a different color even though it came from the same can of paint??? Oh well. I'll just have to re do it. Yes I did give it a couple of coats of two pack clear. That has not been rubbed back or polished yet. Did I mention that I haven't touched the red. That still needs to be repaired. The photo also shows where I went wrong with the exhaust. A couple of hours & I can have that sorted too. Still better than this below.

I should have told you about using plastic primer on the fairings.
Sorry Blue.
Reason your belly pan is a different colour is because the undercoat is a different colour to the side panels ? I'll bet it is !
GREAT JOB !!!!!!!!!!!

So what did you use as a primer, blue? Was that your problem with the paint coming up? I know if a urethane 2k is too thick (or you don't let it flash enough between coats) it will bubble up on plastics as soon as you hit it with more primer (or paint).
However, if you scuff plastic and hit it with light coats of a good 2k primer (and make sure you let it flash for long enough), it seems to stick pretty good.
However, if you're given the wrong reducer or hardener, you're definitely screwed no matter what.
