Default My first CBR what do ya think

well, have been wanting one of these for a long time now.....Just turned 40 and figure I aint gonna be getting any younger! picked her up last weekend, in Daytona Beach. Was an E-bay find that i couldnt refuse. she has 32000 on the clock runs great, am having the sprockets and chain delivered this coming week, *stayed with stock* will take more pics after i give her a bath and clean up the wheels but $2500 wasnt a bad price in my mind. lets here what ya'all think, and any leads on where to get a new windscreen and better foot pegs would be appreciated, along with more web sites so i can read up on wht i have gotten myself into...lol

Looks good. I love riding mine. I have the Zero Gravity sport/touring shield. Same as stock, but 4 inches taller. I don't think you'll find a better site than here for 1000F info.

Good buy !! And dont worry about your age I am 49 and I have only bought my 92 CBR a few months ago, had to sell my old Kawasaki Z1A 900 many years ago as had small family and resonsiblities now the flock has flown the nest and its just my wife and I and we love our time on the CBR together we regulary travel up to 300 to 400 kls on a weekend. My bike cost me $ 4,500 Aus and I was happy with that price. One thing I found the seat a little hard so my wife purchased me / or Us a fitted sheepskin seat cover from a place called SHEEPY HOLLOW I beleive they are in the states as well. Their statement on their website says it looks as if it grew there and boy are they right fits like a glove no movement AT ALL and took all of 1 minute to fit. www.sheepyhollow.com/
Enjoy your CBR

Congrats on the purchase. You shouldn't be disappointed. The bike is a good combination of all-around. What year is it, a 96? If you do a search through the board, there was a post about windscreens and foot pegs. It was a UK address. Some days I like the heavy feeling and others, I wish it wasn't so heavy.

As to those pieces of plastic you´re missing, the bike are supposed to take the first hit on those when being layed over, I suppose that´s why your bike´s been repainted, I kinda like the fact that they kept the top fairing stock. You should be able to find/order those at your nearest Honda-dealer, I don´t think the cost will be overwhealming(spelling?). As for your other "ride", look´s defenitely not repainted, rather excellent stock shape. Be careful not putting a dent on that one
