I know EXACTLY what that is like. When I left Florida heading to New York I rode in three tropical storms along the coast at night at 90 MPH. In the early morning I ran her hard at 125 for an entire tanks worth (that's when I cooked #1 inboard Ex valve) on the CB750F. I had to wait 3 hours in Atlantic City for the gas stations to open when I got there. The hookers were heading to work and I was soaked and out of gas.

Longest distance in a day for me on my '87 CBR was 1280klm's in 10 hrs.

Mt Isa to Cairns & raining cat's & dogs for 800klm's of that.

Left Mt Isa @ 8am & arrived in Cairns @ 6pm.

Lot of time saved when it is 120klm+ between towns & bugger all corners.

Also found I could drain a 21litre tank in 160 klm's if you push real hard...,

Lucky I was insight of a town when all the dash lights came on & things went quite.

But this was 18 yrs ago when speed detection was not as predominant as it is now.

They do not count.
Unless you're sitting on the bike while it's in the trailer.... that counts for 1/4 mileage.

+1 Mr. Trout. 1/4 mileage inside sipping coffee with donuts but, I would give 1/2 credit for sitting on it on an open trailer. Just the looks would be worth the credit.

Dont feel bad Bio248. i have only done 180 miles in a day. But I have done about 30,000 miles in the past 2 years commuting daily in all the seasons.

The most miles I've ever ridden in one day was roughly 850, but I was on a GOld Wing (demo at a shop I worked at) so that's cheating. The most I ever did in a day on the CBR was on my solo East Coast trip last fall, did just short of 700 miles on one of the days.

Many moons ago I did North London to Marseille in one day on my F-J. Was over 800 miles I seem to remember.

This is a pic of my computer shortly after a 24 hour race. I was off the bike for about total 45 minutes during that time. In kilometers it comes out to 691.5 km. Bicycle, not motorcycle. I haven't kept track of any long motorcycle rides.
