Default Mirror extensions

Maybe it's just me, but the mirrors on my 90 model just don't seem to stick out far enough - I keep having to tuck my arms in to see, and even then it's not perfect.
Does anyone else have this problem, and if so, what did you do about it ?

Cut back on the steroids Shadow, bring them shoulders back to normal size....hehe

Can you push the main arm out further and bring the mirror part in? I find sometimes mine get pushed in and I compensate by moving the mirror in, reducing my field of view......just my 2 cents

Strange i have always tought that Cane have very good mirrors. Best ones that i have used anyway. for example suzuki gsxf mirrors are not even compearable, and all other supersport bikes seems to have mirrors only for to be roadlegal.
If i sit to car i always tend to watch over shoulder before changing lanes because its mirrors are not as good as cane has.

But what i know i am only 186cm /70 kg

I suppose it's like everything else in life....if I had an extra inch on each......
Steroids, Gill ? Who needs them - I'm fighting anorexia, and I'm winning !!! 6' - 190 lbs, 44" jacket.....Judge Dredd, to you, Sonny...he he

I'll try your 2c fix Gill, maybe I'm missing something......thanks.

I'm also considering machining up a pair of nylon extensions, to give me the extra inches (on my mirrors)

There is an old post somewhere on this board where extending the mirrors was the topic. Someoneput "spacers" between the mirror arm and the mounting plate on the bike. I'm not sure what material they used for the spacers but they added about 1/2 to 1" spacer which made a big difference.
Try this:

This is a mod thatI plan to do sometime in future. Hope this helps.

Thanks Paul, I knew I couldn't be the only one with the problem. Found the post - helped a lot.
Now I know the alternatives, what will fit, and what's available. Great stuff ! Thanks again...

Hi Shadow, wow you have been busy on the forum!!! lol

I had the same problem 6'2" 220lbs+ and my elbows were always the closest object in the mirrors. I am almost done with this mod: FZ1 mirrors modded to fit Honda OEM base for the mirror. Still working on the rubber... among many other parts as you can see in the pics.
Once I'm done, I'll let you know how it works out.

Thanks Art, Yes, not too much on the roster today so I wandered around the Forum annoying people......
Interesting mod you're doing. I looked at the "cams" that the mirrors swivel on, and thought I could maybe move them around so they click into place further out....but that's for another day.

Yes, same problem. Thats a great idea to put some sort of spacer to add the extra inch. Another good one!
