Metzeler Roadtech Z6
I've ordered a set to replace the Michelin Power tyres within about a month. I've used them for 4600 km's now, and there is only a few mm's left on the centre of the rear so I must be a chicken [
]. Most driving on that bike is bread-and butter-driving between home and work with straights and very few possibilities to lean. The Michelins are very expensive on this bike since all rubber can not be used like on the GSX R which is almost only used on twisties. Of course I'll miss the Michelins, but the Mezelers are not pure touring tyres and should work great on trackdays to from what I've heard.
Any one having experience from the Metzeler Roadtech Z6 ?

That's the tire I have on my bike now. I just replaced the set of Metzeler Sportech, a month and a half ago, that was on the bike. They looked new coming off but were completely shot. Too soft and wore out quick. I have about 3,500 miles on the Roadtechās now and they still feel new. I have tried different tires. The Dunlop 220 was too hard and I found myself in a two-wheel slide often. It was not good in the rain either. The Sportech, I thought was even worse in the rain or damp roads. I didn't like the Sportech on really hot days either. The Roadtech has great feel and holds the road good. The Roadtech also holds better on oily roads than the Sportech. So far it is my favorite tire for this bike, however I have not ridden in the rain with them yet.
I think you have made a good choice.

I've had mine on for about a month and a litttle over 1000 miles. The only regret I have is not going with a 180-55 rear! Other then that they have been great! I liked the Z4's I had on the FJR, and I also like the Pilot Roads on the FJR. I didn't care for the Avon's because of the low speed wooble.
There was a review a little while back that took place with like four different bikes and four different riders and a whole bunch of different tires. The Z6's were at or near the top in every category! I'll try and dig up the link to that.

Thanks for the feedback
. I found a test on sport-tourer tyres in a Swedish magazine today, and now beleive they would be fine since they do well on your CBRs. The tyre was top ranked and tested on a Yamaha R6, as the other tyres. They reported that the tyre was less than 3 mph slower in curves on the track compared to full blown sport tyres. They could lean the bike in dry to 50 degrees, which is far more than most riders and bikes are capable of and quite astonishing for a tyre of this type which not is sharply profiled as a sport tyre. The score on wet was also very good, about 3 seonds faster per lap than all other tyres except for Pirelli Strada which was 1 s faster on wet. However, the Pirelli got far less scores on all dry parameters like grip, stability etc.

I used the Sportec's for years, but they wore out quickly, especially the front. For the last 2K miles, I have been using the Avon AV45 and 46 sport touring tires. They handle better than the Sportec's and are much better in the rain. In less than a week, the chicken strips were gone. I'm hoping to get 6K or more out of the Avons.

I know the Sportec's are to soft for this type of bike, or any bike which is supposed to carve many miles on roads. Whats the difference beween AV45 and AV46?

That“s my current setup too! I“m very satisfied with the Avons. I might go for the Viper sport in the rear next time I“ll need new tyres, but the ST 46 is nowhere a bad tire.

The tyre profile looks far better than I thought and they feel real sticky to.
