try leaning it more often

 

I actually lean it with no problem at all, I don't drag knees but I lean it when I go riding. This is how I bought the bike from the previous owner, if I actually felt it handle poorly I would have got a 180 but it handles great. Didn't know this would be such a problem with you guys, sorry for the post.

 

It not a problem, its your bike n its how u like it. But if you ran the stock size or even a smaller size u would see a big improvement in how the bike turns in n leans

 

Maybe I'll try a 180 next time I change rubber, I'm still learning about two wheels , my first love is the four wheels.

Does the '87 have a 3.5" wide rear wheel?
Does that fit a 180 tire, or do I have to install a later, 5.5" rear wheel?
I've got a '87 with stock wheels, and it has a 110 front/160 rear tire, but both are worn.

 

Yes , No & Yes ....... you'll need the 5.5 rear

PM Indiana Hurricane , great Guy who has done it and I 've seen in action.
He'll fill you in on what's involved ..... if I remember right he changed the
swingarm too which also had implications for the rear brake.

 

Did you have to do any modification to fit 190/50-17 rear tire.

 

I too want to know if my next tire wil be a 190, it looks sweeeeeet! I just bought a new set of rubbers and didn't see this thread until now. If no modifications are needed, my next rear tire will be a 190 for sure.
