Not to mention the tiny cuts left on your hands afterwards. Did you use Honda stock bulbs or aftermarket bulbs?

I sucked it up and went to Honda, $8.99 USD. I didn't want to risk getting it taken apart and having the wrong bulb. Is there an aftermaket that is the same? I have an 88 what year is yours?

95' ........I used the Nighthawk's from a local auto store. They are 40% brighter using the same wattage. I ordered a couple adapter rings from a guy on ebay (thanks Shadow) for 9.00 which if used, allows for using standard H4 bulbs on the Cane. You do have to "snip" off two of the small tabs which center the bulb, but with the adapter rings it centers it for you. The bulbs listed here at my local Honda stealer is a 40.00 bulb! I said, no thanks.....also I found it much easier to remove the console back a bit to get in a access the bulbs and that crazy clip retainer that we have all cursed at one point or another!!

Just because you're a newbie doesn't mean you don't have things to share. You've changed a headlight bulb! I haven't & I hope I never do by the sound of it. Remember, the only silly question is the one that isn't asked.

telling your spouse about this can do no good but cause worry. What would be the purpose of that?

I probably wouldn't tell her, either. (looks around to make sure fiancee' isn't watching)

In fact, park theworse offside of the bike AWAY from where she would normally walk. That's what I do.

Daniel :Sorry to hear your having challenges with your bike. I am with you on this, didn't tell her, thought it would be an interesting thread though.

kilgore : I got really lucky, didn't hit the rotor. Only got a small scrape on the front rim

I found that I never had to tell my ex-wife that sort of thing as she was usually driving the car
