Some members have similar oilers and some take them off. They can be messy.
Pick up a can of chain wax at your nearest bike dealership. Wax stays on longer in the rain and you only need to wax about every 600 miles or so.

I think Sprock makes belts from his old chains. Those messy oilers makes for a lot of clean up before he puts on his white clam diggers.
