Think of it like a drive chain, but it comes pre-assembled. You have to remove a link, hook it up to the old chain, run it through, unhook, then use a new master link to combine the chain. Much easier than dropping the engine, removing the cams, drop the crank (and everything attached to it).

Ok I've got the new tools in, and put everything in place, but I'll be damned if I can tell if I've peened over the ends enough. Hell, I've destroyed 2 cam chain rivet tools (out of the 3 that I ordered) already (plus another masterlink because I tightened it too much). Does anybody know of a tool that does solid steel (Motion Pro didn't think this part through)??

Ok, so for those of you that have done this job before I've got a question. The cams are in place, the holders tightened down, the tensioner is fully relaxed (most slack allowed). The exhaust cam sprocket is on with the chain going over it, but I can't get the intake cam sprocket to get into position. It's like I need one more link. Anybody deal with this before?

Yeah, I was going to use some of the old links to make it fit. So I called my dealer to order me some more links, and tried again the next morning (this time with the tensioner unbolted) and it pretty much dropped in.

Go figure. Now I'm having fun trying to adjust the exhaust valves, 3 master links on their way for no reason, and still trying to find a way to stake the ends of the master link (once I find it again).

Does anybody have any opinion if http://www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=1693 this wold work? Everything I've tried so far has bent or broken.
