Default Just got a CBR1000F!!!

Hi there,

Just bought a 1995 CBR1000F (see picture). Its black/grey with the yellow slashes on it. I love it. Its got 35k on the clock but rides beautifully.

Does anyone know of original Honda panniers for sale for this bike in the colour thatmine is?

Any advice welcomed. I just passed my test so I am taking it VERY steady riding it carefully. I am very surprised that the handling is so good though. Yes its a big bike weight wise but thats only when maneuvring by hand. Even at low speed she is very good at handling.

As far as I know, Honda didn't make panniers for the 95's, and the panniers which theysold were in 93 and 94 and weren't color coordinated. I suspect that the mounting brackets on your bike are aftermarket. Go here http://public.box.net/pacoman03200166205where I posted a brochure showing the color schemes for the third generation 1000's, including the bags and top cases they did offer. Note that this is a Euro Brochure, and the info may or may not apply to the US and elsewhere.

As far as I know, Honda never made panniers for the CBR1000F.

Your rack looks like a GIVI or Kappa rack, and both firms make very good panniers.

Take a close look at GIVI's keyless panniers! They are a bit expensive, but they are top notch!!!

BTW. Congrats on your new beautiful bike

Thanks guys. Been riding it more today and am loving it!

Regards panniers I do actually have a full set of Nonfango panniers with the bike (hence the rack on the back that a few of you have noticed). Given that Honda doesnt appear to have made colour matching panniers, I think I'll just stick with mine. Attached is a picture of bike with panniers.

Bike handles as easily (if not more so) than the 500cc Suzuki's I learned on.

I hasten to add again, I am taking it VERY easy on the throttle!! I know there is plenty there, but its my job to tame the bike, not vice versa! I have opened up the throttle a little here and there, but what I really love about the bike is the low speed easy handling where you can cruise at a low speed in say 5th gear at low revs and her enginedoesnt splutter or complain at all.

Very impressed. Thanks again for welcoming me!

If you get a chance to ride a blackbird be careful as you may just want to trade in your 1000 F, I rode any earlier version 03 model and thought yeah nice but it wasn't until I rode the 07 model and I thought yes now this is nice. The power weight is hard to get used to as well. My old 1000 still lifts the front wheel after 6 grand but the bird wants to go skyward all the time.
Yesterday my bird gave me a fright, a street which I normally pull out into traffic. On my old girl this is nothing out of the un ordinary BUT when I gave the bird a bit of stick I was sideways down the road for about 50 yards doing a big fishy !!! I didn't let off the power ( Was enjoying it too much ) and had plenty more but couldn't believe the power it has.
