Part number 53104-MS2-000, WEIGHT B, HANDLEBAR
Has anyone had to replace one?
How are they secured?

If you mean the outer end of the handle bar, it's just to loosen the phillips screw at the end a couple of turns and pull it out, or adjust it into position again if it had been hit.

part #7 is held in place by part #10. It's just a rubber bushing that hold the weight in place. The easiest way to take it out I think would be to remove the bar end weight, screw in a long bolt, then slide hammer the balancer out. It might require some sort of penetrating oil to loosen up the rubber bushing.

That could be a problem. The threaded end of the inner weight has sheared off when my bike was thrown to the ground by the scum mentioned in my other posts.[:@]

The bar weight reduces vibration in the handle bar. Helps with the tingles.
The rubber parts friction holds it in.

EDIT ADD: At $161 for a new handelbar, if you can't get the inner part out, maybe start thinking about Heli Bars for a few bucks more. I just wanted to throw that in there.

Abacus, did you ever get this fixed, and if so what did you do. I accidentily (sp) dropped my bike this morning [:@] and the bar end snapped off along with the end of the inner handle bar weight. Just wanting to know what I need to do to fix it and how much it's going to cost me.
