Individual air filters?
Has anybody had any luck removing the airbox and fitting individual air filters?
My airbox is jiggered!
I`m sure it will need rejetting,but I was doing this anyway.
I don`t want to do it if it will run like a bag of crap!

I had pod filters on a GSXR750. While it gave it much more improved top end there was a large hole in the mid-range and bottom end. In traffic or on steady throttle it was ****house. Also performance would vary a lot more than airbox when encountering different conditions like rain, cold or heat. But on the plus side when I road the bike like a 2-stroke and kept it in the high rev range it went like a shower of **** with a great induction roar.

I have K&N individual cone pods on now, and did have Uni filters both gave a little perf boost top end over the stock air box and single K&N.
It took awhile to get jetted, as the 2 center pods needed 1 size smaller/leaner jets than the outers to get it right. They do rub the fairings and I had to worry about the fuel petcock as its in the way for any tubes to be added to get the low end back. I"ll post pics later, the real advantage is how fast i can get at the carbs and change jets or put the FCRs/with stacks on when I take to the drags.

54mm is what I have on, but 55mm would be better if you could find them, I think anything bigger would be to loose.

The rest are 2 big after resizing as I took them @ 2048 x 1600 5 meg and can only get them down to 540kb each,
(was more for trying out the camera at the time than for the Uni pics)
but that gives you an idea of the places you run into clearence problems, the K&N Tapered cones fit a little better.

Wont really have much effect on jetting or performance unless its a huge hole. If the hole is at the front you may be sucking in grit & crap . Just hit it with the silastic or fibreglass kit.
