Thanks for that Dave, I'm sitting here trying it out now, but all that's happening is a rather unpleasant combination of wine and crackers is getting sprayed onto the monitor. Do I need a really thick tongue like Jamie Olliver to achieve the authentic effect?

PS - have always loved that anorak term, puts me in mind of Roy Cropper.

I'll pass on this one, like Shadow says drop the front & in my case I found the new
Michelin's rear tire/tyre profile negated having to screw with the geometry at all.

For what it is , thanks but no thanks , no need to butcher up the dog leg for something
like that.

Not saying you are wrong just saying it's not my cup of tea is all. May work for
other people.

Shortening the dogleg will actually make it stronger not weaker.

The writeups in the magazines, when the bikes came out, stated that they could not keep a front tire on them due to a heavy front end. I don't wish to make it worse as my front tire gets eaten up at speed. What was mentioned here was 2-up riding. The 2" raise may help to level the bike out when 2-up. I don't think it is something for most 1-up riders. I smoke the outer soles off my boots but I live with it.

Glad to help TK. Sorry about your monitor though. You should've thrown your anorak over it before trying the move since it takes practice to perfect. I don't think the thick tongue is mandatory but, if you want to do the experiment, I'd suggest finding a bee and popping it in your mouth for a few seconds then just wait and see...probably a good idea to do this in a hospital though.

Back on topic though, since I'd never hijack a thread with silly bull5hit , I'd say that most insurance companies would have a problem paying a claim if they found any sort of suspension modification had been done that significantly altered the bike's handling. The 'anorak wearer' in me would get a qualified mechanic to inspect and approve any work of that nature just so I couldn't get screwed for everything I've got if the worst scenario occurred.

As always, it's the diversity of opinions and ideas that makes it interesting to hang out here .

Thanks for the bee tip Dave; like you I would never try to hijack a thread. But whilst I'm I'm here I've just recalled that an empty Berocca tube filled with bees does make a handy and inexpensive vibrator if you're ever caught short.
