Mag tests on early Hurricane models like yours listed high 10's, low 11's for later 90's models. You could probably go mid 12.6 with a flat rear tire.

I have raced against and beaten the **** out of Big Jags, Big Porches as well as a TVR and the odd Ferrari, the only thing that kind of kept up was an Ariel Atom but the guy driving it looked like a biker (was wearing an Arai) and he/she?? was almost as mental as me

I have raced a new mustang and it was slower than a Honda Civic Type R that wanted a race, to be honest allot of the car drivers could probably have kept up and gone past me but they just seem to bottle it...... wusses.

That's pretty wild looking! I wander how he gets the power to the ground. My hurricane just lights the back tire up in a victory cloud of smoke when I take off fast. And that bike is turbo'ed! wow!

i find when taking off, i hit second and crack the throttle and up she comes with no worries whatsoever. even gets right up to "oh ****" height.
it does come down hard though even if you are still on the gas a little so i certainly dont do it every time

Mine lights up because it has a crappy, worn, almost bald Metzler on it. I think I'm going to get michelin pilot powers for it next season. I heard they are really good in the rain. Which as long as it's warm enough I ride. I don't ride in the rain now because the tires on the bike aren't the best in rain. I wonder how fast that turbo'ed 'cane was in the 1/4 mile? I wonder if anyone has put nitrous on one?

Turbo wouldn't kick in right away becuase of the lag so he wouldn't be too bad off out of the gate, I would wonder if he breaks it loose on the shift to 2nd or 3rd. Might have to try that one out before this one goes out to pasture (LONG time from now I hope).

Default Wheelies

Try hitting second gear HARD at 7 grand and the front end will float to about 75mph. At least it does with my wife on the back! She really does love it. I went up 2 in the back and ran 10.98 at 128mph at the strip last year. My son has a VFR800 is 35 years younger and 40 lbs lighter and my old 91 still smoked him by 1/2 second. I also have a Cop friend that clocked the old cane at 164. Not bad for a 26 year old lead sled.

Awesome!!! You really captured the feeling we get from 2 wheels. Thank you and all of my brother's and sisters out there! Keep your chin up wheelie and keep it between the ditches.
