Default I need a Resistor/Rectifier

1988 1000f Hurricane

Bike bandit wants over $200 after shipping. Can't find it on eBay. as for my local bike shops; one doesn't supply honda parts and the other doesn't supply parts for bikes as old as mine. Does anybody have one or know where else to find one a little cheaper?

Thanks

I just found one on ebay for a similar price. I found it best to just search for "regulator, hurricane" and it would bring up what they have. My used reg/rec is working out great. there's also a place in the UK that makes a new part for the 87-88 for around 140 pounds if you're wanting to go new. http://www.electrexworld.co.uk if you're interested.

Hi,
Believe it or not, that £39.99 one is for a new unit!

wow, you are right to doubt. I really can't believe there's a new one going at that price. That's a steal!

I have two spare regs for my 90 model. If you've been on this forum a while, you'd know why....!
You're welcome to one (if you can get it to fit) Looks different to the original for the 88 tho'
Try contacting Daniel_Arg on a PM - he bought one for his bike in Argentina brand new for $70 US and he had it in a week.
Also, look up posts on regulator/rectifier on this forum.
Hope this helps.

Weekender is correct. When I was looking for one for my 90 3 weeks ago, I found that the 87-88 use the same. As do the 90-91, but the 93-96 bike uses yet another part number. So be careful what year model reg/rec you purchase.

Apologies. After re-reading my post, I don't mean to imply that the 87-88 model and my 90 use the same part. They don't. I was trying to illustrate that the 3 distinct models: 87-88, 90-91, 93-96 all use different part numbers. So bear that in mind.
