If the Mk1 has a fuel pump how did you guys get your crankcase full of fuel - unless you've removed the pump ??

You'd have to wonder that wouldn't you? Just put it down to us Mk1 owners being quite clever guys.

OK so it's a MK1, I didn't see where the year was mentioned. SO with that, you need fuel and spark to run. These bikes were lean from the factory and won't start without the choke as mentioned. The MK1 also has a fuel pump that can fail, so it may not be getting fuel.

If it's not a choke issue, the quickest things to check up front is,

(1) lift the tank and pull a plug. With the plug touching the head, crank it over and check for spark.

(2) pull the fuel line and see if fuel is flowing.

Do those things first. You must know the results of Choke and/or 1 & 2 before moving on.
